Abstract

There does not appear to be an accurate account of whom or when the phrase “soft skills” was first coined, but in 2006, Cambridge University and a few other universities warned their students to refrain from taking ‘soft’ A-level subjects such as information and communication studies, design, and sports studies. Students should focus more on subjects like History and Mathematics (Devon, 2010).The evolution of these skills has become increasingly important to organizations and education. There is nothing ‘soft’ about teaching, training, and developing people in the art of interpersonal skills.
