Description

The purpose of this paper is to examine the literature on first generation college students and immigrant students. Researchers have examined each group individually but there is little work that examines the two groups together. This paper will include a literature of the existing work on both first generation college students and immigrant students. This paper will provide further insight on the barriers to a college education that first generation college students and immigrant students endure. This will provide a greater understanding of the factors that influence both first generation college students and immigrant students. It will also provide a greater understanding of what resources can be utilized to assist both student groups.
